Chapter 5 “Adrift”
1. Why do you think Larry is so mean? i think he is mean because he was treated that way when he was young so he feels like he is getting revenge.
2. what is David’s new found passion? his new found passion was riding his bike as much as he could.
3. what started the incident with Larry?What did Larry mean when he said clean your clock? when david called for lilian larry blocked his way and grabbed his arm he meant he would kick his ass.
4. What did david do to stick up for himself? Do you think he did the right thing? david told him that just because he is bigger it dosnt give him the right to treat them like the way he did.
5. What happened to Chris’s parents? chris,s parents abandoned him and has been in foster care ever since.
6. How many foster homes had Chris been thru already? chris has been in over a dozen of foster homes.
7. Why was this Chris’s last year in foster care? it was his last year because he was turing 18 and when you turn 18 your on your own.
8. Why do you think Larry wanted David to call him uncle? he wanted him to say uncle for he could feel like he won but david didnt say uncle this time and wore larry out.
9. What kind of doctor did Lilian take David too? Why?lilian took david to a pysciatrist to make his head better like lilian said.
10. Do you think the doctor was nice? Do you think the way David reacted was wrong? I think the docter was crazy just like the rest of them i think david acted the way he was sopossed to act.
11. What did the doctor keep calling him? How would you have reacted in David’s situation? The docter kept calling him daniel and it irritated him i would told him to get my name right at least
12. What are the sessions like? Describe? the sessions were just alot of questions about david and why he thinks his mother treated him the way she did.
13. Where do Larry and him ride? Do you think it is a good idea? Why? they rode down the street into a parking lot of thomas edison elementary i think it was a good idea.
14. Why do you think David wanted to go down the street where his mother and brothers lived? i think it was to go see the children and see them play.
15. What did David get in trouble for? Was the punishment like his mothers’? he got grounded and it wasnt as bad as his mothers punishiments.
16. What was Lilian’s serious talk with dad about?
17. Why was he upset about his mom’s phone number? Why her number got disconnected or got turned off she had changed the number to the house.
18. Does the dad every visit? davids dad had not visited yet.
19. What does he wish for from his dad? he wishes that he would drive up in his car and just take him away and live together.
